Tiered seller fee + 3% processing (drops as you sell more).
StockX charges a transaction fee that drops with your seller level (9% at Level 1 down to 7% at Level 5; $5 minimum) plus a flat 3% payment processing fee, both on the sale price. You also pay to ship to StockX (about $5 in the US). Estimates only, verified Jun 2026.
How StockX fees work in 2026
StockX takes two percentage fees on every sale. The transaction fee is tiered by your seller level: it starts at 9% for Level 1 and drops to 8.5%, 8%, 7.5%, and 7% as your completed sales or sales value climb. On top of that is a flat 3% payment processing fee, charged regardless of level. Both apply to the sale price only shipping isn’t part of the fee base. There’s also a $5 minimum transaction fee, which bites hard on cheap items.
Two things make the real cost higher than it looks. First, your level resets every quarter, so the lower rates only stick if you keep selling. Second, you pay to ship the item to StockX’s authentication center about $5 in the US which comes out of your payout. All in, a Level 1 seller pays roughly 12–13% plus shipping. The flip side: authentication is built into that fee, and because buyers trust the verification, StockX prices often run higher than the same item on eBay frequently enough to offset the difference.
Worked example
Sell a $200 sneaker (Level 1 seller), cost $120, $5 ship to StockX.
- Transaction fee (9% × $200): $18.00
- Payment processing (3% × $200): $6.00
- Ship to StockX: $5.00
- Your payout: $171.00
- Your profit: 171 − 120 = $51.00
At Level 5 (7%), the transaction fee drops to $14 about $4 more in your pocket per pair.
FAQs
How much does StockX take per sale in 2026?
A transaction fee of 9% at Level 1, dropping to 7% at Level 5 based on your sales volume, plus a flat 3% payment processing fee both on the sale price. That's roughly 10–12.5% before shipping.
How do StockX seller levels work?
Your level is set each quarter by either your number of completed sales or your total sales value. Higher levels earn a lower transaction fee, but the level resets quarterly, so you have to keep selling to keep your rate.
Is there a minimum StockX seller fee?
Yes, a $5 minimum transaction fee in the US. On low-priced items that minimum can be a large share of the sale, which is why StockX works best for higher-value pairs.
Does StockX charge fees on shipping?
No, the transaction and processing fees are calculated on the sale price only. But you pay to ship the item to StockX's authentication center about $5 in the US and that comes out of your payout.
Why are StockX prices higher than eBay for the same shoe?
Authentication is built into StockX's fee, and buyers pay more on StockX because they trust the verification process. That buyer confidence often pushes sale prices high enough to offset the higher all-in fee.
Do StockX buyers pay a fee too?
Yes. Buyers pay a separate premium (around 10%) plus processing on top of the asking price. That's entirely separate from your seller fees and does not reduce your payout.
