The fee that blindsides people is Offsite Ads. Etsy advertises your listings on Google, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest; if a shopper buys after clicking one, you pay 15% (or 12% once your shop passes $10,000 in trailing-12-month sales). Below $10k you can opt out, above it, the 12% becomes mandatory and permanent. The other quiet drain is fixed fees on cheap items: on a $5 sale, the $0.20 + $0.25 alone is about 9% before any percentage applies.
